Initial Setting (with a Random Number Table) #

Once you have been issued a Web Token (Random Number Table) account, you need to set a password (“OTP Pattern” and “Additional Phrases”) as the initial setting.
The password consists of “Additional Phrases”, and sequence of numbers created by “OTP Pattern” and Random Number Table.
Please follow the steps below to set your password.

What is “OTP Pattern”?
It is positions and order to choose displayed number in the Random Number Table.
You will create a one-time password by combining the “OTP Pattern” and a Random Number Table.

What is “Additional Phrases”?
It is fixed characters.

1. Start your browser, and access to the login page( https://kekpl.kek.jp/ui/) of the authentication system.
   

   

   If you choose [en] in the pull-down for language selection, the website will be in English.
   

   

2. Input your “UserID”, and click the [Next] button.
   (You will know your UserID from the email with the subject “Your registration to KEK VPN new authentication (random number table method) has been completed.”.)

   

3. Enter the initial-password you created using the “Temporary OTP Pattern” in the email with the subject line “Your registration to KEK VPN new authentication (random number table method) has been completed.”. And click the [Login] button.

   Must see details of the initial-password, see (Example) below

   For example, the email(“Your registration to KEK VPN new authentication (random number table method) has been completed.”) describes the “Temporary OTP Pattern” below, In this case, the rules for creating a sequence of numbers from a table is shown in the figure below. For example, if you got a matrix in your browser that looks like the image below, your initial-password is “678552”. ("678552" is for example, numbers picked from the matrix according to “Temporary OTP Pattern”.)

   

   • A matrix is effective for 3 minutes.
   • Reload the page, if 3 minutes or more passed after the matrix is displayed.

4. After successful login, the following screen will appear in your browser.

   

5. Decide your new password.
   And input your new password, then click the [Next] button.
   (Do not forget new password should include not only “OTP Pattern” but also “Additional Phrases”)
   You must type in your new password 3 times to memorize it to the system. This is First Input.

   Form of “OTP Pattern”

   between 6 and 12 digits
   Easy pattern (straight) is unable to use as Image-password.
   It must choose 1 or more characters from all of blocks.

   Form of “Additional Phrases”

   between 4 and 10 digits
   It must be numeric characters, alphabetic characters (case-sensitive), . (dot), @ (at), - (hyphen) and _ (underbar).

   Arrangement of “Additional Phrases” and “OTP Pattern”.

   “Additional Phrases” followed after “OTP Pattern”.

   (Example)
   For example, you decide that the new “Additional Phrases” is “vpn06” and you decide that the the new “OTP Pattern” is a figure below. if you got a matrix in your browser that looks like the image below, your setting password is “527284vpn06”. (“Additional Phrases” followed after “OTP Pattern”) ("527284" is for example, numbers picked from the matrix according to “OTP Pattern”.)

6. This is Second Input.
   Please input your new password again with newly displayed matrix, click the [Next] buttorn.

   (Example)
   if you got a matrix in your browser that looks like the image below, your setting password is “912421vpn06".

7. This is Third Input.
   Please input your new password again with newly displayed matrix, and click the [Next] buttorn.

   (Example)
   if you got a matrix in your browser that looks like the image below, your setting password is “978796vpn06".

8. The procedure of changing initial-password has been completed.
