Initial Setting (with a Software Token) #
To use a software token, you must “activation” the software token.
Activation is a process that allows the software token application to automatically generate a one-time password.
(You only need to do this setup the first time.).
Please read the instructions below to activation.
Points to note when setting up #
- Please handle the activation URL or QR code used for setup carefully to avoid disclosure to others.
If they are leaked, they may be used for unauthorized access. - The number of times you can activate with the issued “PassClipL Activation URL” is limited to 2 times.
If you have accidentally deleted your software token settings or wish to register a different device, please apply for reactivation. - You may register software tokens in up to two terminals at the same time.
Preliminary Arrangements #

Install the software token application (PassClip L) on your smartphone.

Open the installed application and tap [Starting Service].

Tap “I Agree” if you agree to the “Terms of Service”.

Preliminary Arrangements is now complete.
How to Activate #
You can only activate on a smartphone device for which you have completed Preliminary Arrangements.

Please access the “PassClipL Activation URL” in the email with the subject “Your registration to KEK VPN new authentication by software token (smartphone application) has been completed.” from your PC.

Click [QRコード].

A QR code will appear in your PC browser. * The QR code shown above is a dummy.

Open PassClipL on your smartphone device that has completed the steps in Preliminary Arrangements
and tap [ADD] in the upper right corner. -
Tap [Add QR Code].

Allow access to the camera if requested.
iOS/iPadOS Android -
Scan the QR Code displayed on the browser of your computer in step 3.
When the QR code is scanned, the message “PassLogic slot created.” will appear, tap [OK] to close.※If you have trouble reading the QR Code, please refer to How to Activate (if the QR code cannot be read).

If “PassLogic (KEK VPN)” button is added to the PassClipL screen, the registration was successful. ◎If you wish to change the Initial PIN Code, please see Change PIN Code.

How to Activate (if the QR code cannot be read) #
The following steps should only be performed if the QR Code could not be read successfully in step 7 of “How to Activate”.

Open the email with the subject line “Reactivation of software tokens for KEK VPN Authentication System” on a smartphone that is already configured for Preliminary arrangements.

Please access the “PassClipL Activation URL” in the email with the subject “Your registration to KEK VPN new authentication by software token (smartphone application) has been completed.”.
When you access the “PassClipL Activation URL”, you will get a message “PassLogic slot created.” Tap [OK] to close it.
